Columbus-based COMTEX breaks ground in Ashland

on October 4, 2018

October 4, 2018 – Grow Ashland had the honor of hosting Columbus-based COMTEX’s Groundbreaking and Ground Blessing today at the facility’s future site on the 250 North bypass. The commercial, state-of-the-art healthcare laundry facility chose Ashland for its first expansion; a $20,740,000 investment in our community, with a commitment of 75-100 jobs.

Although the weather radar showed a storm rolling in during the event, the team decided to continue as planned. The skies opened with a heavy downpour as guests congregated under the tent to hear Kathy and Mayor Miller welcome COMTEX to Ashland and COMTEX Board Chair, Heather Brandon and Vice-Chair Rick Jett share the not-for-profit’s vision for its partnership with Ashland. The rain subsided as Jim Letourneau, Mount Carmel Chaplin and Bernie Gillespie, OhioHealth Chaplain led the group in a ground blessing and Mitchell’s Orchard desserts were served.
